Acquired by Prudential in 1999, M&G offers a range of over 40 funds and invests in a wide range of assets. These include UK and international equities and bonds, property, and private equity. We have one of the largest Fixed Income teams in the City and probably in Europe, with successful initiatives in project finance and securitised vehicles. We are also one of the largest investors in the UK stockmarket.

M&G's retail investment products include unit trusts, personal equity plans (PEPs), individual savings accounts (ISAs), open-ended investment companies (OEICS) and investment trusts. On the institutional side, we are active in the areas of segregated and pooled pensions, CDOs, leveraged finance and structured capital management activities. Our Portfolio Management Group (PMG) focuses on the portfolio strategy and tactical asset allocation of multiasset Prudential funds.
Global outlook
M&G employs staff in London, Chelmsford, mainland Europe and Cape Town. Since 2002, M&G has been expanding its international distribution capacity and we have a growing presence in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and Luxembourg.
Graduate opportunities
From late 2007 we will be accepting applications for our investment training schemes in the fixed income and equities businesses. There will be an opportunity to rotate through the main teams and gain broad business exposure.
The successful candidates will hold a minimum 2.1 in any degree subject or have an expectation thereof. In addition to this, you will possess 340 UCAS points and grades A and B at GCSE level Maths and English. You will be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and be enthusiastic for a career in fund management.
This will be a demanding scheme, which will require you to demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to think laterally. A cool head under pressure is essential, as is the confidence to make or stand by a decision and influence others effectively. We are ideally looking for candidates with a strong team ethic, but also self-starters with a desire to make a positive impact on our business.
